TMV TRUST released Book of "72 Melakartha Varnams and 35 Thaala Varnams" on 12 December 2012 at Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra

 

 

 

  

 

 

 
   

I was born and brought up at a ethnic place Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district, I learnt veena from Veena Vidhwan Karaikkudi Smt V.Varalakshmi & vocal from my guru swamimalai Sri S. Janakiraman.

I learned Sampradhaya Bajans from my parents & grand parents & accompanied with them during Bajans, Sri Radhakalyanam, Sri Rukmani Kalyanam, Sri Seethakalyanam & Sri Lakshminarasimar Kalyanam.

I was blessed to here the first upanyasham of Sri Sri Krishna Premi Swamigal during the 3rd trimester weeks of my mother.

  

I learnt Harikatha from Sri Srinivasan & gained Sanskrit knowledge from  Mellakaveri "Sri Panjaapakesa Sasthrigal"

Until 1984 I have done stage performance of Harikatha kalakshepam in many place around India.

Started to teach veena since 1977 and as a full time teaching from 1984 to my students.

Also to make the Harikatha live in future, I also teach & share my knowledge to my students,

I have been with “Bhartiya Vidhya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra” since 1992 for teaching Veena at both Mylapore & T. Nagar centers.

Currently I am teaching Veena, Harikatha, Vocal & Sambpridhaya Bhajans (with notations)

I started to write new Varnams with Swaram & Sahithyam in Tamil from 2001 & the same is continuing till now & will further continue.
